What to See in Dubai in 5 Days
A short trip with luxury, culture, and special moments.
"I had just 36 hours in Dubai and zero plans—except one: to experience as much wonder as possible. No plans. No guide. Just curiosity, a backpack, and a last-minute booking. No regrets."
Hey traveler!
If you're planning your very first trip and wondering what to see in Dubai in 5 days, welcome to the club.
I had the same question before my recent Dubai trip, and now, I'm sharing my tried-and-tested itinerary with a few juicy tips, including where to stay (hint: Ontario Tower rocks!) and how to make your stay smooth with a short-term apartment rental in Dubai.
Day 1: Classic Dubai — Skyscrapers & Fountains
Start strong. You are in Downtown Dubai, - the WOW moment!
- Burj Khalifa: First stop? Head straight to the top. The view is unreal. Try to book tickets for early morning or sunset.
- Dubai Mall: Next door, you'll get lost in this mega-mall. I didn't just shop, I visited the Dubai Aquarium and grabbed a crazy milkshake at Black Tap.
- Dubai Fountain Show: At night, the music + lights + water = pure magic.
Optional: Check if there's a performance at Dubai Opera nearby!
Day 2: Desert Safari Day
Looking for the real desert adventure?
- Dune Bashing
- Camel Rides
- Sandboarding
- Desert Camp BBQ with shows
Dress comfortably. Book with a reliable safari provider.
Day 3: Step Back in Time — Explore Old Dubai
Besides malls and skyscrapers, here' are your fun filled adventures.
- Al Fahidi: Wind-tower buildings, charming cafés, and inspiring art corners
- Abra Ride at Dubai Creek: An unmissable experience for only 1 AED.
- Gold & Spice Souks: Bargain your heart out.
Add-on: Head to Miracle Garden, if its a winter.
Day 4: Adventure — Abu Dhabi — Easy Day Trip
A blend of culture, and art. Enjoy your short ride from Dubai.
- Abu Dhabi Louvre Museum: A treat for art lovers or a cool escape from the heat.
- Sheikh Zayed Mosque: Peaceful elegance with stunning architecture.
- Ferrari (Optional): Thrilling rides and fun for adventure lovers.
Tip: Head out from Dubai early - either with a tour or by driving yourself.
Day 5: Chill by the Water — You've Earned It
Dubai's coastal charm with a day of sun, sea, and stunning views → Enjoy sun, sea, and breathtaking coastal views.
- Dubai Marina: Wishing for a scenic brunch? Dubai Marina is the best for a brunch with a view.
- JBR Beach: Sun, sea, water sports. What more?
- The Palm: Dine at The Pointe, play at Atlantis, or enjoy city views from The View.
Optional Luxury: Try Aura Skypool, pricey but worth every dirham.
Where I Stayed: Ontario Tower, Business Bay
I chose a short-term apartment in Dubai. It made my trip feel so much more relaxed and fun.
Ontario Tower in Business Bay was my pick:
- 10 mins to Burj Khalifa
- Canal view + great cafes around
- Roomy, tidy, and budget-friendly
- Close to the metro, hassle-free travel
Other Areas You Can Consider
- Palm Jumeirah: for beach vibes
- Downtown Dubai: if you want luxury
- Dubai Marina: for nightlife
- JVC: for budget stays
